There was always Elvis music played around my house when I was growing up. So I still enjoy the music. I remember where I was when the announced his death as I was packing to leave for my Freshman year of College.
He died too young, just goes to show what drugs will do.0 -
I was watching Elvis Live From Hawaii on TV, and fell asleep.
However, when he started singing Triligy: The Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Dixie -- I woke up out of a sound sleep -- that was a tremdous performance!
Five years later I heard that he'd died. I was stunned; didn't realize that he was in that bad shape mentally & physically.0 -

I was waiting in the car while my dad was inside shopping for groceries. (he always did that) breaking news on the radio. Elvis is dead! I was horrified.

My Grand-dad was a patient at Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis when he died. We were there visiting. I still remember all heck breaking loose at the hospital when it was announced. My mom bawled her eyes out. I thought he was OK. When I was going to college and living in Memphis, we Memphians hated this week. WAAAY to much traffic in town. We called it "Dead Elvis Week" and tried to schedule vacations around it. [:D] A few years ago we went back and toured Graceland. Too much shag carpet and naugahyde for me! 0 -

I have no problem with Elvis as a matter in fact he is a great singer. If it wasnt for my dad i probably wouldnt be into Elvis. 0
