Ive seen some old stuff,But that!I aint got a clue.Maybe,Just maybe,IF it has got anything to do with fire protection...It COULD be some sort of fire phone. The switches being different zones or areas. However it could be something as simple as a secretaries office phone.[?][?]

I am hoping it is vintage military but the only numbers I see anywhere that possibly could be ID numbers are DE 2 4401-01 FIG 2
which does not jive with US Military "coding system" I believe there should be a AN or AL prefix somewhere but can't find that anywhere and besides, the color is not quite "green" enough I wonder if this piece is even American ?...maybe it is Canadian, the breast plates,(2) are marked Western Electric 648B, and Western Electric 396A, the headset is marked Western Electric 11A, the plug adapters marked 289A and a mouthset made mostly of brass is marked 525(Western Electric)

if anybody knows of a fairly ACTIVE vintage military equpt. MESSAGE BOARD I would appreciate a link, but I could not find one with any decent traffic, so I could get some opinions fairly quickly...this is a very ACTIVE board with good people that like to help sometimes confused people like me...LOL!

Not sure about being military. A quick Google search for "Western Electric 396A , WE 11A and WE 525 bring up quite a bit of info. From my "quick" reading, looks like a mix-match of parts put together when the system was in use.

bottom picture is a navy sound powered phone system. you talk into the tube as it sits on your chest and listen with the headset. they are still in use. advantage? needs no power to work and you can talk all thru the ship withthem. ingenious design. value? retired fa*ts like me who served 22 years wearing those stupid things during general quarters likes them.[:I] no good without two though!

top picture looks like the phones ive seen in airforce command centers for missle silos and or ready rooms for strike command.
