Just saw on the news a Catholic School demands that parents of their students attend church and Mass or lose Tuition aid. OK.[:0] Seems like as fund drive to me.. Go to church, drop money in the plate, get tuition help. [}:)][}:)]

It is a religious, private school. They can set whatever demands they want for financial aid.
If'n you don't like it, feel free to start your own atheist school, and feel free to come up with your own rules, like, perhaps you should have some narcissistic complex under the guise of your being more enlightened than other religious fools.0 -
They can make you go to mass. They can't make you put money in the plate. 0 -

What's the big deal? As others have said, it's there school. It's a private school. Live by their rules or send your child elsewhere. 0 -

It is the Church demanding the parents go to church, not the school, no church, we wont help your kids.. Kinda taking a bite out of the Freedom of religion thing dont ya think..but of course, the more parents in church the bigger the collection plate needed . Hell didnt they do that in the inquisitions, force people into religion and churches and by the sword at that. Now they dont need a sword, just threaten em with no finances..[:D][:D] 0 -

I just saw the story. "Demands" was not in it. To get the tuition discount, you have to be a member of that church. Still no biggie. I am a Presbyterian pastor. Our church colleges and universities give discounts to Presbyterian students. No different.

The minute a church hands out envelopes for you to fill out with your name and address to put your tithes and offerings in, that's the minute anyone should leave. If you are faithful to THE GOD of Christianity, and in my opinion of us all, you would give out of that faith honestly. The Bible states to not let your right hand let what you left hand is doing (can't remember word for word) and it is in regard to giving. No one should know what you are giving. How does the Catholic church (which I do consider a cult based on Bible teachings) know what people are giving if they do it Biblically? Ok, I'm sure I have offended lots with this post. Not meant to, just to make people think and read. I don't hate anyone, I just don't agree with everyone and don't expect others to agree with me either. 0 -
