I dont think being religious or atheist has anything to do with the murder rate.. Look how many preachers have murdered their wives, Preachers wives killing their husbands. Church going people molesting little kids and killing them. Does religion or lack of it play a role in all those instances?? 0 -

There's a difference between a declared atheist and a practical atheist. Those who state (and live like) there is no God, and those who merely live like there will be no accountability for one's actions beyond death.
I believe all murderers are practical atheists or insane (some are both).0 -
To make a point that he was an atheist is about as valid as the fact that he was wearing a Marylyn Manson t-shirt and "Goth" makeup.
I must say though, my daughter confided to me a few weeks ago that she is extremely reluctant to tell many of her friends that she is an agnostic, due to fear of the Christian backlash.
Admitting that one is not a Christian, regardless of one's beliefs or lack thereof, is to open oneself to all sorts of scorn.0 -

Officers placed Stephen Coon, 19, in the back of an unmarked car, then several officers went into the house. It was unclear why Coon was being taken into custody.
"Please have respect, I just lost my brother," Coon said as he was being escorted from the house.

I don't think I'd be to concerned about this... Seems to me that most Atheist would hang on to life dearly, after all if they're right this is it and if they're wrong they may be headed straight to hell and they know it. I doubt that they would be wanting to rush death all that much under those circumstances!!!
Nope not concerned about this at all.... I think I'll just continue to watch THAT group of people the that seems to think that God has given them the "Two Big Thumbs Up" on the wholesale murder of innocent people!!!!0 -
