Finally!
got a chance to get to the range, finished sighting the scope on the .22 and got a chance to see how that new Polish Makarov shoots.
i came home with a smile!
after a few rounds on the rest to adjust the sight, this is how 20 rounds at 25 yds came in
obviously i now have to get myself sighted in again after too long without weekly range visits.
then it was time to play with the new toy for a bit, at 25 yds,rapid fire, 20 rds in about 3 min (only 2 clips so time out to reload makes time an est.)
couple fliers, i think from the rather stiff da pull comeing off safe on each clip, wanted to see where they would go with conditions simular to real life. 3 6 rd clips and a fourth w/2 rds, all i had with me and keep a full clip for the trip home.
recoil is mild (9x18) rather like a small .38, recovery is quick even with my rather large hands on the smaller grip than im used to, over all a likeable gun i could get used to plinking with real easy. 'specially with the commie surplus ammo being pretty cheap!
need to go back with more ammo when the line is empty to see what the grouping is like at "normal" confrontation range since even at 75 ft all these would have done the job, and with a 3.33 in barrel

My back ordered Christmas present came in today.
A Bowen Rough Country, Square-notch, white-outline rear sight for the Ruger Super Blackhawk.
Tolerances are smack on. The thing is beautiful.
The ol' hog-leg is very nearly complete; I just have to have a machinist poke a tiny hole on the underside of the barrel for the base-pin retention screw.
Here's the rundown:
The sight.
New screws.
New springs.
Reverse-spin pawl.
Base pin.
Ejector rod w/half-moon tab.
Hogue Monogrip (Which I intend to replace with a fancier, Pau Ferro Hogue...eventually)
This one's a keeper, because I'll never get all that coin back selling it.0 -
