Still some nice helpful people around

I was running low on fuel in my bike but figured I had enough to get home where I had 5 gallons I could use.
I was wrong.
At the bottom of my hill about a mile from home my bike sputtered and ran out of gas.
I figured I could just push my bike up the hill the last mile to my house.
I just got started pushing my bike and a lady stopped in front of me and asked if I needed help.
I said "yes and no, I am almost home and thanks for the offer"
She started insisting I let her give me a ride home to get some gas and to bring me back to my bike so I agreed and jumped in.
She gave me a ride home where I grabbed a 1/2 gallon of gas and then gave me a ride back to my bike where she refused to take any money.
It kind of reminded me of the world I lived in when I was a kid.

    It is kind of surprising the bike was still there when you returned, unlike the world of your youth.

    Got another story about nice folks still in existance.

    My buddy & I went out fishing and in the process of backing down the pickup, the pickup kicked into neutral and rolled down the ramp too far. We had to shut it off to keep from stalling the engine. Fortunately my friend was in it and got it stopped before it went into the drink completely.
    I thought we were in for a long day and not much fishing. But a guy was in sight of the dock and stopped fishing, came over and towed us out and wouldn't accept any money. We offered to buy him supper at the bar by the lake but he turned that down also.

    There are still those out there, surprising as it may be.

    Pretty good but I thought for sure you would have said
    "So you were reminded of how many times you ran out of gas when you were a kid"[8D]

    Good story. Thanks for telling it.

    I try to help where I can on the road and just last winter I pulled 2 cars out a ditch at the same intersection down the road from where I live.
    One of the guys looked about 16 and seemed scared he was going to get in trouble so when I pulled him out he was extatic and offered me money.
    I refused his and the other ladies offer and am a believer it will come back in one way or another.
    A lesson learned from my Grandfather.

    [8D]--I kinda enjoy going up to Reno during the heavy winter months, because there's always a couple pretty gals, stuck in the snow and I'm glad to "oblidge" them and ease them out of the snow--

    Yep, my parents & grandparents taught me to help someone when you see they need help. I'm sure it'll make it's way around to you sometime or another.

    yeah, that lasted a week and a half, maybe 2 weeks.
