whats the best thing you have done?

i have been getting the urge lately, to do something with my life that is really "good" i'm thinking some kind of volunteer work, some kind of venture where i can make an impact on other peoples lives, and in a positive way...


what are some things you guys have done that have given you the sense that you were doing some good?

i mean, we can get pretty caught up in the day to day of our lives, work, school, guns, etc... sometimes i feel like my life doesn't really have a purpose...


i have had a pretty rough day, actually, a pretty rough year or so, so i've been doing some thinking about life and stuff.

    don't have much time to do alot but i do help with our AAU wrestling kids practice not one of the coaches but help out with the kids learning moves and ect i really enjoy it i know its not much but...

    talk with your minister he can probably find you someone who needs a ride to church, or the grocery store, start out slow because it will grow on it's own. whatever you do, do it with humility.

    Sunday School for three year olds. Teach, sing, put on puppet shows, play, color. It's easy...it's child's play. The wife and I did something like it for about thirty years, (my personal favorite).

    Boy Scouts. If you want to influence young boys for good, that's an excellent place to start. Takes lots of patience.

    Christmas in April...doing home repair work for low income or aged folks.

    On occation I've worked at homeless shelters, working a soup line, but not for a few years I'll admit.

    Put care packages together for troops overseas. You can't imagine the good that can do for a lonely 19 year old soldier.

    You don't have to move mountains to make a difference. Little things can matter in big ways in some lives. Good luck.

    I give blood every time they call, (every 10 weeks?) I'm O- a "univeral donor" so I hope I have helped someone.

    From a humane point:
    You'll probably laugh, but my Brother and I went out during a hurricane and rescued over 3000 endangered baby least tern chicks drowning in a beach sanctuary. We were young and dumb at the time, but it made the news! [:D]
