Self defense loads

Just finishing up the break in on my new Kimber Ultra Raptor II with full metal jackets. Know I am looking for opinions and or facts on a good self defense load. I am thinking some Cor-bon Pow'r ball!?!?

    In an increasing number of cases, a "homegrown" privately loaded round used in "defensive" application will result in a strong bias against the "defender" - and, oftimes, will result in Prosecutors' verbiage to the effect that you were intending/looking for a fight, not being "defensive".

    Advice I got was: for target, hunting etc., use whatever you want, but for Self-defense, use FACTORY loads, and keep the box till you no longer keep them in your carry piece.

    I may be wrong, But I think. If you are shooting a 45. You can throw just about any thing, with good stopping power.

    I'm going to experiment and see which of these listed above will feed the best. Hopefully their will be no problems[:)] I know I shouldn't have any with the Pow'r Ball since I never have before in a 45.

    I keep Remington Bonded Golden Sabers in my 625 because thats the est shooting round out of it but I like the Hornady TAP's and XTP's.I did some tests on my own not with ballistics gel admittedly but with dense clay and did not like the consistency I saw from the federal's.The Hornady did well and the Bonded Golden Sabers drove deep and expanded well and just happened to be the most accurate so thats what I stuck with.Give em a shot.
