Gander Mountain
I went to Gander earlier to kill some time. While I was there I thought I would get some powder for reloading my 7mm Rem. so I get three pounds of IMR 7828 and then I noticed that the price had been blacked out with a marker. So I asked for a price check and they wanted $39.99 for a pound of powder!!
I knew that they were high but man now they have gone completely crazy.
I can get it at the local gun club for $22 per lb. I won't go back.

We're getting a Gander Mountain Store here in Texarkana Texas. I've never been to one before . Does anyone have one in their town and if so how do you like it?

Went to our local Gander Mountain today to buy a new Nikon scope for a rifle. Salesperson got it out and let me look it over. Said I would take it, but needed to go back to the truck to get the rifle so they could mount and boresight it. He said, "That'll be an extra $25." Since when did anyone start charging to mount and boresight a scope that you buy from them? I refused to buy the scope, went down the road to a locally owned place, bought the same scope and they mounted and bore sighted at no cost to me. I have bought scopes at Gander in the past and they always did it for free. I am done with them, and just told them so in a letter to customer service. We'll see what happens! 0 -

looked at it and remarked "nice
gun", then looked closer and saw it
had one slide bar(standard) and
said that Gander Mtn. had a policy
that they could not take a gun with
just one bar because (get this) they warranty all used guns and if
the single bar breaks, they have a
warranty claim. I told him that I
had brought along a newish Model 94
but would'nt bother bringing it in
cause it only had one lever, one
trigger, and one barrel and surely
did'nt want them to take a chance on something like that! Incidently, this is'nt the first
time. I've taken NIB rifles in and
had the yokel look them up in their
Blue Book of Used Guns and offer
50% of listed used price!0 -
What in the world is Gander mountain trying to do? The prices here are out of the world. $699.00 for a glock 23.
.45 Acp mega paks for 149.00 for 250 Rnds. The used guns are priced higher than what I can buy new at my local ma&pa store and online. They had a used 500 S&W for 1025.00 and the guy at the counter said the prices are firm.I told him no thanks...........0 -

Stopped by the store near me, Lakeville MN, after some other errands in the area...wanted to see their new "state of the art" shooting range addition...what a joke...I walk over to the area reception counter, look to my left and through glass see what appears to be 5 lanes crammed in this "room"...I asked the guy working at the counter, "Is that the range?"...he replys "yes"...I ask how deep is that thing...he sez 30ft...I asked how much to shoot, he sez 29.00 an hour...I said really, turned around and left...they have been advertising this thing like crazy....very disappointing to say the least...[V] 0 -
I just ordered all the 3D archery targets from Gander Mtn. They had better prices then any one including ebay!!!![:0] I bought a Deer, turky, bear and howling wolf. Can't wait to get them installed at the club and start using them. 0 -
At last here in south central Kentucky. One opened in Bowling Green last week. I'm slow so I only found out this morning.

I still buy my ammo at Wally world, 10.00 for .40 and 12.00 for 45Acp.I love the looks when I tell them I want 10 boxes of each[:D] 0 -

A few months ago, here in Jacksonville, Florida a Gander Mountain opened. My hunting/fishing partner went there on the grand opening weekend. We had heard that they were giving some grand opening discounts on certain items.
Well, I tell you what. If what we saw were the sale prices, I sure would hate to see them before they marked them down! Damn they are high!
We shopped around, checked out thier guns. Pretty good selection, all the new ones were over priced. We did find a couple of good deals on the used rack.
We discovered a Browning bolt action rifle. It had a bull barrel and was chambered for 220 Swift. It had a Leupold scope. The price was 799 with a 100 off for the grand opening. We grabbed it!
We have a buddy who was looking for a 220 Swift, so we got it for him. He was thrilled for getting it at that price.
Other than that, they were high on just about everything.

I love my local G.M. I've found some really nice buys there. Yes I buy ammo elsewhere usually, but G.M. has a price matching policy...I know, I've used it. 0 -
We have All of them here,Gander Mtn. Bass Pro Shops,Cabelas and MY favorite Sportsmans Whse. The worst prices are at Bass Pro and Cabelas. 0 -
We just got a brand new Cabelas here in WA and it is alot of fun to visit. They have many items in the store that you cannot get online or in their catalogs. But saying that I must tell you their used gun prices are wayyyyy off the marker. For instance they had a old beat up single shot .410 and were asking $225! I saw some Ruger 10/22's going for almost what you could buy a brand new one with a scope! Some of their new firearm prices were ok-nothing to write home about. Their ammo prices were ok. I used to go to Wallyworld for ammo, but I find most of them only have decent deals on shotgun shells during dove and duck season and .22 ammo. Their centerfire pistol & rifle ammo is on par with anywhere else. I also hate dealing with the associates there as 99% of them know zip if you have a technical question. We have a Sportsman Warehouse here too and it is basically a 1/4 sized Cabelas. 0 -

But yes- I buy my fair share of that Blazer Brass stuff there. Can't beat the prices unless you reload your own ammo. 0 -
Only at Gander Mountain does a beat up old rifle with worn wood and rust on the metal have a price tag higher than brand new rifles of the same make an model, sometimes several hundrend more. And do not even bother to make them a lower offer as they will say company policy requires them to sell it for a certain percentage above what they paid for it, making their prices firm. And there ammo prices.... WOW! The only thing more expensive then the ammo is the componets to reload. I did the math and paying for the powder primers brass and bullets at GM is actually more expensive than just buying the ammo at their insanely high prices... sad... very sad. 0 -

Same problem here in IN., prices out of sight. the only reason I even go into Gander is to kill an hour or so waiting on the wife. Rumor here is that they are going to shut down the store because of poor sales---well DUH[:(] 0 -

That 30.57 might almost get you 50 rounds at GM, but not sure. They had .380 "on sale" the other day for 18.99 for 50. I usually get it for 24 for 100.0
