At that price, I'd rather get Barnaul nickel-plated steel-cased 145 gr. FMJ @1000 rnds for $300, or 168 gr. soft points for $400. Heck, you can get 1000 rounds of Winchester 147gr FMJ for $600! You can get lithuanian military .308 as well for the same price as that SA ammo you saw on gunbroker.

It says in the DPMS LR-308 manuals that shooting S.A. battle pack ammo will void your warranty, but I'm sure they would say the same if you use nickel- or brass-plated steel cased ammo, as well. Is the south african stuff notorious for something nasty?0
