Kel-Tec PLR 16 (long range pistol) Muzzle Brake?
Hey guys,
Not new to gunbroker, but to the whole chat/forum thing.
I just bought a Kel-tec plr 223. There is a muzzle brake specialy designed for it. The looks arent all there but the performance claims to be.
My question: Has anyone put a standard m16/ar15 style brake on one of these and what was the outcome? The BBL is only 9.5 ".
I have been told that if you use the one made for the PLR on a ar15/ m16 it will acctually over compensate for the shot and push the barrel down.
Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks

Description for Item # 77051079
PLR MUZZLE BRAKE KIT. This 1/2"-28 threaded muzzle brake was designed specifically for the 9.2" barrel of the PLR-16 Pistol. It eliminates nearly all muzzle rise and recoil and also directs the flash away from the sight picture. Though it will fit the SU-16C and SU-16CA rifles, it was designed for a shorter barrel and is so effective at fighting muzzle rise on the 16" barrel rifles that the barrel is actually pushed down during shooting...All items are brand new...Low shipping & handling charges with multiple item shipping discount available.Payment methods include Paypal, Visa-Mastercard-Discover-American Express, Money Orders, Bank Checks, or Personal Checks.Personal checks held 10 business days...Paypal users must have eligible status and confirmed shipping address.USPS Delivery Confirmation tracks your item and is provided free for all purchases.0 -
I am not sure what you mean by standard AR flash hider but I am guessing you are talking about the A2 flashhider. An A1 flash hider is the same all the way around so it should not compensate any. I have a Phantom style AR flashhider on my OA pistol and have had no problems with it.
Are you trying to get something new for the look or are you wanting something to compensate more?0 -
The PLR-designed compensator does direct much gas upward to stop muzzle jump, but it also makes that gun LOUD AS ALL HECK because the shockwave is directed perpendicular to the barrel rather than parallel with it. Good for quick follow-up shots, but directs a large flash upward into your line of sight.
May I recommend the Levang linear muzzle brake? It's a bit big, though, and does not help with muzzle rise specifically, but it slows the gas exhaust and reduces felt recoil significantly while directing all the gas forward, away from your head.0 -
both racist and ignorant.
Hi-Points are drop guns, and fat chicks are fun to bleen as long as nobody fins out (not black chicks like you said earlier). Get yer facts in order.0
