Sore throat remedy that works
No - this is not some old wives tale, this comes from a Dr. and was confirmed last night by myself. Take 3 Advil. Your sore throat will be gone in about 20 minutes. The Dr. said this was not the intended use for the drug but it should be renamed as that is what it is best at.

Gargle with hot salt water! Hot as you can stand it, before bedtime ...Works EVERY time! ...But if you're a panty waste find some lozenges call "Fisherman's Friend" ...They don't taste good, but the work pretty well! Been there, Done that!!! 0 -

He Dog ...Then step up to the hot salt water! About a coffee cup full, gargle until the water is luke warm, spit it out and load up with another mouth full. A coffee cup full is about 4 to 5 times. After doing these two things will happen, one no more sore throat, and two you'll wish the "Fisherman's Friend" stuff did work for you! *G* Enjoy!!! 0 -

So what do know that will cure a summer cold? I've had one for nine days.I tried to sweat it out twice , it put me in bed twice. I've drank more water then some lakes have in them, rested and have been on theraflu for the last five days. I feel like warmed over horse manure. I saw the doctor , he said theres alot of that going around, give it two weeks.Five more days an that doctor better have a cure for this cold.The temp here has been over a 100 degrees here for the past seven days. 0 -
Even though there's no cure for a cold (it's a virus, not bacteria), you've got the right idea. Lots of rest, lots of water, and eat what you can to keep your energy levels up. All a doctor can do is treat the symptoms. The rest is up to time. 0 -
A glass of cognac will end that sore throat in less time than your Advil. 0 -

+1 - the Advil masks the symptoms but does nothing for the cause. Since colds are a multi-billion dollar industry for pharmeceutical companies, it is not likely they will EVER release the cure for the common cold - but you can bet it exists!0 -
