FireFox Update Problems
My computer just did an update for the Firefox internet viewer. Now I have to turn the Personal Firewall off to view anything on the laptop. Does anybody have a solution?

It is because the fw is blocking the application, since it is a new FF it is a "new" application as far as it is concerned...
(at least I think so... I really don't like having much to do with Windows... )0 -
Dunno. I tried FF but only briefly, as it lagged my system so badly, but so did IE7. Quickly went back to IE6. 0 -
iwannausername is correct. You need to set up your firewall to allow the firefox application. 0 -

Well, at least I didn't get into my rant about improperly configured firewalls... they are for blocking things *coming in*, not going out...0 -
Found it! Thanks! 0 -

True for WindowsXP firewall; but, not true for other firewalls. Many, including myself, don't use Windows Firewall for this very reason. You need a firewall for incoming and outgoing.

Well, I have 1 problem on my firefox setup at home - If I accendallt click on the history menu, my system and firefox is frozen for 8-10 seconds. Then the "history" menu comes up and all is fine. But, it is irritating when I am doing something and I click on that instead of "bookmarks" 0
