Medical Procedure
One of our family has been scheduled to undergo a process called a "Bone Marrow Biopsy".
Anyone dealt with this before?
Is there a great deal of pain during the procedure and what about pain after the test.
The doctor involved says that there is nothing to be worry about and that all that will be felt is some "pressure".
Appreciate your replys and comments.

If it is the one where they go in through the butt cheek and pull from the hip bone it is relitivity painless durring the procedure with only mild pain afterwards for about a day.
Really not a big deal in the pain department.0 -
"Better living through Modern Chemistry" - just ask for the good stuff - a responsive Doc will step it up two or three levels, and ... 0 -
Don't worry it's not that bad, when I had my last one a couple of interns came in and asked if I minded if they watched the procedure. I said if you don't mind me mooning you I don't care, as they started I ask for them to do me a favor. They asked what that was and I said while your back there please check for lead so I can tell my boss if I had lead in my A-S.They said you are funny and I responded when someone is working on you it was wise to be nice. hahhaha I walked out right after they finished so don't worry.[:D][8D][^] 0 -
Best of luck.
I have found that most pain is reasonable, unless the doc says "you'll have a little discomfort". Every time I hear that I know I'm in for a busload of hurtin'.

Good luck, there is some discomfort afterwards, but its nice to have modern meds for pain. should be up and running in no time. Good luck. 0 -
The last thing you want to hear from a medical professional is "Iam not very good at this".
A gal said that to my wife when getting prepared to draw blood one time. If you hear that from your doctor prior to heart surgery.... then you have problems.0 -
Nor do you want to hear, "oops" or "i;ve never seen that before" 0
