revolver puchase
i am thinking about buying a revolver for carrying in the woods, biggest threat to me and my dog would be a PA black bear with a couple cubs, i want at least a 6 shot, double action, colt or s&w, .357 mag or .44 mag, barrel length from 4-6,
anyone have some good suggestions??

6" 41mag. The bear guides in this area of northern Maine all carry 41mags claiming it will drop a black bear quicker than a 44mag. A .357mag is too light for black bear. 0 -
I would go with a .44 Mag. Only 44 mag Colt ever had on the market was the Anaconda which is a great firearm, but rather pricy.
Lots of .44 mag. Smiths out there.0 -

In the woods when not carrying a rifle, I carry a Smith 629 Classic, 44 mag. or Ruger Blackhawk flat top .357 mag. 0
