Bishopville Girl Attacked by Dogs

(Lee County) - An 11-year-old Bishopville girl was attacked by four dogs, two of which were pit bulls, while walking home from a neighbor's house Monday evening before 8 p.m.

Dorris Scarborough, with Lee County Animal Control says Amber Hornsby was injured mostly on one of her legs, and was taken to Richland Memorial hospital. The hospital says the girl is listed in serious condition.

Authorities say the dogs were picked up at about 8 a.m. Tuesday morning, and were euthanized. They are next going to be tested for rabies.

Scarborough says neighbors were all questioned about who the dogs belonged to, but no one was claiming them.

According to a DHEC release, there were 180 cases of rabies confirmed in South Carolina in 2006, with only four being dogs. Lee County had no confirmed cases last year.

    2 of which were pitbulls huh?What were the other breeds.I guess that doesnt matter because 2 were pitbulls.

    these are terrorist dogs that have been following the vic case. theyve decided to even the score for thier races cruel treatment, so they are attacking at random.[:o)]

    They are indeed suicide terrorist attacking dogs. They are also noted for leaving large landmines in your yards.

    There were 2 other non pitbull dogs in that attack since some seem to be missing that.

    I think to put this into proper perspective; it seems obvious that the other two were probably Pit Bull wannabees!
