that all the people who claim to have had a Remington 700 to fire when the safety was deactivated that not a single report has come from:

a hunter who accidentally shot an animal?

or a hole in their blind?

    Or jeep.

Not a single accidental discharge has been reported from a shooting range?

From someone sighting in a scope?

There is not a single reported case with multiple witnesses of a discharge.

Not a single report involving a family pet.

Never once has a gun been reported by the mfg has to have fired while deactivating the safety while final testing was being performed before sending the gun to packing.

Every single case reported involves the injury or death of family or friend.

And I think that is enough proof to say that the Remington 700 issue is a non issue. And that some irresponsible people find it easier to try and place blame on someone, something anything other than where the blame should be placed.

Another famous case of this was when Ford and Firestone got rolled for people driving top heavy suv's on under inflated tires causing premature wear that lead to blow outs and tire failure.

I think the attorneys government are trying to get Remington in the same trap as Ford and Firestone.

Seems logical enough. Thirty miles for some is 30min., for others it may be be 3hrs..

Not sure I agree that that is the most common. Usually I get miles or blocks or some measure of distance rather than time. I usually give both if I know both, like it is just under 1100 miles to St. Louis, and takes me 16.5 to 18 hours.

In Northern Virginia, "an hour from my house" could be 5 miles. In SW Virginia, "an hour from my house" could be half-way to Northern Virginia.
