Williams Firesights
Recently purchased a Williams FP-94/36 Firesight Set. Comes with receiver peep sight and a replacement frontsight which fits in the original front ramp dove tail. Installation was easy. The trouble started at the range. With the rear sight adjusted all the way down, I was 3" high at a 100 yds. using factory round nose ammo. When I used the new Hornady Leverevolution ammo, I was 8" high at 100 yds. My rifle is the Marlin 336A in .35 Rem. The rifle was mfgd. in 1951. Called Williams and was told to get taller front insert. I thought that after I explained the problem they would help me out. No such luck. Disappointed in their support. Maybe the assembly wasn't designed for this old of model. If so, they should throw out a disclaimer or offer to come up with a higher insert for the older models. Anyone else have this problem.[V][?]

there are others much better, never considered buying Williams 0 -
If you aregoing to stick with Williams, call them back and speak with someone else. Or try a supervisor. You paid good money for a product which does not do what it's supposed to do. Explain this to the person you are talking to and tell them that the only way to make it right is for them to send you the CORRECT part to make it work.

I was surprised they were so smug. It was like I was an idiot. I had the correct model and application. Not my fault. I was waiting for them to offer to send me a taller sight insert. But no dice. I will call them again tomorrow.[:(] 0 -
Guess they put a front sight for the 20" barrels in their sets. Then sell you a taller front sight for the 24" 336A barrel.
Good luck with customer service.0 -
Called Williams again today. Dang, they are smug! Seems with the new Hornady ammunition that they are flooded with calls about not being able to regulate the sights. Most people using the Leverevolution ammo are having to install a Taller front insert. They offered to send me a taller insert, but I need the rifle in 1 week. My tough luck![V] 0
