When I was drafted in '63 I knew nothing about firearms. We never had them at home. I was, however a gear head so knew about mechanical things. During M-1 school it was immediately obvious to me that I could make one full auto with a hand file. I'm sure that looking how a piece operates, many can be modified also. You can even find books and videos at gun shows showing you how. Naturally these are for info purposes only.

As others have said don't try it. I've turned down unregestered AKs & ARs for a few hundred because it just isn't worth it. Look at it this way. Even making min wage, that about $10K/yr. That's less than some of the legal NFAs. So if they put you away for 10 years you would have lost $100K. If you would have saved less than 10% of your earnings for those years you could have bought one - plus you wouldn't have spent 10 years as some big hairy guy's bi*ch!

Naturally this post is for information purposes only!

Hell I can bump fire and not get into trouble. Yes I can hit my target bump firing. Just walk them in. May take a 30 round mag to get a few hits but beats hell out of going to jail. I learned I could bump when I was 20 years old so became quite good at it.

My buddy's AR will do the same[:)] His fully auto Cobray (with stamp), needs cleaning too (or part changes) you pull the trigger on that and it empties the entire magazine

One of my Ak's (romanian) has done this more than once in its life. Usaully after a day of 500+ rounds it will start letting loose[8D]

I learned that I could do with 1 shot what it took others several magazines to do.

what happened was, the firing pin got stuck in the forward position due to fouling, and it repeateldy slam fired. that's a known issue, and can be very dangerous when it's unexpected (usually is) and gets out of control.

also, monkeying with the timing and/or "filing something down" to make something full auto, can cause slam fires or firing out of battery. the danger is not worth it.

A primer blowing out and falling under the disconnector in an AR will empty a magazine.

Had a Cobray that would slam fire before the next round was fully chambered! That was fun![B)]

But full auto fire is so tantalizing...........
Many risk paying the dues for getting convicted.......
Many pay a fortune to own legally..........

In reality, semi-, or burst-fire, 3 or 4 rounds, is the most useful way to empty hi-caps. 1 1/2 seconds for a Mac-10 on full-auto is actually pretty disappointing- it doesn't last long enough!
