My parents had a '55 Chevy when I was growing up. The wife and I still want one to this day. We're going to build a Panel Truck when I get my shop built. 0 -
It's a 1966 Chevy II With a all aluminum 427 cubic inch stroked small block with a 6-71 blower and electronic fuel injection, Turbo 350 trans and a Ford 9" rearend. The rear tires are 16" wide. The interior is far from stock, as is the whole car, it looks like a cockpit from a plane. I just had the car professionaly tuned last thursday, and haven't raced it yet, it feels strong, and it should fly! 0 -
I really like the 55 Chevy! I always liked the 55's and 56's. I was going to buy a 56 project car and build it with my dad about 25 years ago, but it never happened, I wish we did.
I also have a 2006 Mustang that I did a couple things to. Maybe i'll post a picture of that to.0 -

Come on now Doug, your age is showing. Yes the '32 Ford was called and is the origional Duce. The Nova was known as a Chevy II before it was called Nova so it also was also called a Duce.0 -

I never could understand how that cross ram intake manifold works with the carbs lower than the runners?0 -
They work great.
Are the tubes the long rams or short rams??

2006 Corvette Coupe in Lemans Blue Metallic.
Options include 3LT, MN6, Z51, U3U, R8C 12-16.
Modifications include a G5X3 Cam, LG Pro Long Tube Headers, Corsa Sport exhaust, UD pulley,
Haltech Stinger CAI, Chrome Wheels, Powder Coated Calipers and a LG tune.
All this = 435 RWHP & 409 RWTQ0 -
I just LOVE the newer Corvettes! Just a bit over my budget, that's why I bought a Mustang instead, plus I have a bad back, and crawling out of those isn't easy.

Doug...they are long rams. You can tell by the valley that runs between the runners. On a short ram, the valley doesn't begin at the carbs. It starts right about the distributor and runs to the block.

mango tango...As Doug said, they work QUITE well! The principle is really simple. If you can increase the mass of air flowing through the engine, you can increase power. You can increase air flow either by an external device such as a supercharger, or you can increase air flow by designing resonance into the manifold systems. The "Ram Induction" manifold is a resonating manifold. Chrysler is still using Cross Ram Induction today. Look at the V-10 engine on a Viper, and you will find it! The 300M and even the PT Cruiser use it!0 -
