where were all these people when 3 boys were accused of rape? 0 -
everyone is focused on the hanging of ropes from a tree,go back to what started it,,the white boys had been hanging out at this tree for years,,just like when I was in school every little group had their spot,,,,the blacks decided to take over this spot and gathered at the tree to take it by force,,the next day their were nooses hanging in the tree,,,in my day we would not hung a noose,,we would have showed up with ball bats and took our spot back,,now the school has cut down the tree,,one boy beat,,several more charged,,all because once again a bunch of blacks were trying to take something by force,,and when they are called on it,,of course it is always someone else fault,,now I know this sounds racist but its not if its the truth 0 -

The answer to the original question - 20 port-o-potties at the courthouse rented by the parish (county) government and supposedly another hundreed or so at the original gathering place provided by the National Association of Always Complaining People.
I guess they were told they better go when you get off the bus because you have several miles to walk before you can stand in line in front of the other 20, then several more miles to walk before you get back. And oh, yeah, don't drink any water because you might have to go, and besides, it's supposed to be a very pleasant day in the South. Oh wait, you're from Michigan so you're still going to fall out from what you percieve as extreme heat. Not sure how to advise about that water, other than don't buy it in Jena.

13 wraps is what made it a hangman's noose!
The standart 8 or 9 wraps makes it a barrel knot whis a very usefull knot as you stated.
But I will stand by what I said of it was a tradition for the hangman to use 13 wraps.0 -

Is correct. The Hangman's knot contains 13 coils.
I have heard two different versions as to why it contains 13. But I can't say either is true.
1. 13 For the thirteen colonies.
2. 13 was used to make sure that the victim did not "escape" due to the knot slipping. Along with this version. I heard that the knot was placed behind the left ear to nearly guarantee a broken neck when the gallows trap door was sprung.0 -
