Good post. If you ever get in trouble like that again, you should post here. I think some of us could scrounge enough stuff tegether to get you going. The problem would be lag time from the post office.

    Take care and Thank you!

If you "had" to order $700.00 worth of parts in order to get a M 14 serviceable (that wasn't even issued to you,) why didn't you just order a $2.00 front sight post for your M16?

I'm sure you have/had a great M14 though and I'm sure you're proud of it. But where is it now? Did you fire it at all?

The supply officer of your unit should be courts martialed for dereliction of duty. When you get a chance talk to a JAG about charges.[:(!][:(!]

Glad he wound up with something that would actually drop the bad guys from 600 or 700 meters.

I wish all our Brave Troops had them.

All those items cost him around $700?

    Let's break it down:

    A.R.M.S. #18 M-21/M-14 scope mount: $170.00
    A.R.M.S. #20: $160.00
    Mags: $150.00
    M14 operators manual: $6.00
M14 parts manual: (can't find price)
    cartridge extractor: $12.00
    gas plug wrench: $10.00
    lube kit: $12.00

    That's a total of $520

    Which means only one thing:

    Shipping and Handling is a b!#@$ goddess.[;)][:D]

Its sad to hear what our boys have to do to get quality weapons over there. Amazing to see how much work had to be done to make a might fine M-14. I'm Proud of the efforts and job theses guys have to do. God speed.
