How many guns do you own?
I've got 12 long and 7 hand guns that I have purchased. With 7 more long that were my Great Grandpas and Grandpas. Total of 26. I'm new here so this may have been asked before. I'd just like an idea of what people have out there.

The "correct" answer to "how many guns do you own?", is the same as the "correct" answer to "how many times per week do you pleasure yourself?".
Answer, "That's personal, and I prefer not to discuss it".
("None of your f'ing business" is not a nice way to speak to your boss).
If you want a wise-acre answer, you could ask her how many pairs of shoes she owns. That one is often good for a laugh.
If you think the asker really knows nothing about guns, you might answer that you have multiple guns for different purposes. For example, "I own a shotgun for shooting clay targets, a target pistol for bullseye competition, and a few rifles for hunting different sizes of game."
Most of these anti-gun people legitimately have ZERO understanding about different kinds of guns, and can't grasp why anyone would want even one, let alone an assortment of them.0 -

I'd have asked her what she feels the "correct" number is.
Answer probably would have been "zero".
Then I would have added that since she clearly dislikes guns and is afraid of them, any number of guns would be too many for her to possess responsibly.
Followup would be why fifty unloaded guns in your safe are any more or less dangerous than two, especially given that you only have two hands.
If you own ten cars, you aren't ten times more likely to get into a car accident or engage in drunk driving.

When someone tells me I have too many guns I ask them why it is any different if I own one or one hundred. If I am a law abiding person with one gun, why would I be proned to break the laws just because I had more than one? I have long since passed the point where the word 'arsenal' would apply and I have yet to find myself considering a life of crime. I got three more yesterday and two the day before and not once did I consider knocking over a store or shooting anyone. To me they are mechanical works of art every bit as worthy of collecting as paintings or toy trains. Anyone that has a problem with it can kiss my hairy butt. 0 -

I used to have some guns, but sold them all due to some dental work I needed done.
I hope to get a Red Ryder soon though.
