Antifreeze, suspicious notes found at murder suspect's home

PITTSBORO, N.C. - Investigators are trying to determine whether a woman accused of fatally beating two elderly women also tried to poison them.
Barbara Clark is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 82-year-old Mary Corcoran and 92-year-old Margaret Murta, who also went by Peg.
Search warrants released this week show a note in Clark's handbag that said, "Peg - put bag or something over face" and "Mary - hit over head or use stun gun."
The purse also had a notebook that listed ways to hide the taste of antifreeze. Investigators found a gallon container of the poisonous liquid in Clark's home.
The 41-year-old Clark once worked as a housekeeper for the two women. She also is accused of beating the women's neighbor, 77-year-old Rebecca Fisher, who remains hospitalized in fair condition. The attacks happened December 5.
