    Insurance for a full year: < $70. [:D]

I've got 60mi on it and no complaints. Hell, the cover was more than the insurance.

Well, you cannot beat the insurance rates...[:)]

That's way better that $313 for this:

Or, about $10 for insurance every time I take it out!
Course, its not really the same thing, is it?

The nice thing about the scooters is the insurance companies don't differentiate between the size. They don't do that on motorcycles. Anyone check the rates on a 500cc Ninja?

Gas went up to 3.09 here. I'm still at 3/4 of a tank with a 3.7 gal tank and 60 miles. I tied the cover to the back to get it home. I at least found another use for motorcycle tiedowns.

What sort of coverage? You guys are making comparisons, but you aren't stating what you are comparing.

My insurance costs me about $120 a month.

Son Mark's insurance costs him about $60 a month.

He gets a better deal, right? Wrong.

He has bare-minimum liability, just what the state requires.

I have several times the state requirement on liability, collision, comprehensive, towing, medical, uninsured motorist, on two vehicles.

Liability only on a motorcycle is cheap, and rightly so. They just don't do as much damage as a car when they hit something. Throw collision, comp, UIM, and medical payments in there, and things get expensive in a hurry.

And I thought mine was stiff at $730 a year. Like you I carry way over minimum on the full coverage, but then the PIP (personal injury protection) tacks on another $365. That's on the '04 VStar 1100. My girlfriends '83 Honda 250 on the other hand is $47 a year for the full coverage plus the $365 for PIP.

There is no such thing as "full coverage."

I think my insurance is $300-400 per annum on my HD. It has towing and lots of extras.
