Perseid meteor shower tonight

Tonight you can expect about 25-60 meteors per hour and as many as 100 in the northeastern sky. You won't see the meteors evenly spread out over time. You may see nothing for five minutes and then four or more in a row a minute later. Lie on a blanket and look up rather than stand. If you stand with your neck tilted up, you will have neck issues in the morning. On Sunday night, heading into the morning of the 13th there will be fewer meteors per hour, but still a nice show. The best time to see this will be around 2AM-3AM, but if you don't want to wait till then it's still worthwhile early at 10PM to 11PM.

I'd really like to see it but it's past my bed time, and I'm too foggy in the morning to look up.

Every year since I was a pup, I spend the night in the yard, laying on my back on a sleeping bag watching the sparkles in the sky. Since I've had Kids, the ones that were home watched with me.

It's kinda sad that this will be the last year watching with one of my Children.

This display by God puts Independence Day to shame.

Lie back on a lounge chair and scan the entire sky.
That is the plan here shortly.

    Thanks for the info FrancF.

I enjoyed sitting and watching with my younger son. I should have done more of this when we were both younger.
