Gun quote on Law and Order
Watching Law and Order SVU on USA tonight and a rape victim is shooting a 50 cal Desert Eagle with a 14 round clip. The cop with her tells her that is practically an assault rife.

I quit watching that show years ago. The ticked me off every time they made any gun type comment. It used to be a rare occation...but it got unbearable for me to even take the CHANCE on watching any of their series.
Did I tell you I had the pleasure of being a nielson's rating family? We even had little books for each tv where we had to log what we watched and mailed a whole packet of mess back to them. Law and Order got no love from this family.0 -
I remember that episode. Given what I know about TV/movie writers, facts are secondary to them - they put out whatever sounds cool, facts be damned.
That it reflects their ignorant bias towards guns is just a side effect of their stupidity.0 -

Last time I watched the show they referred to a 9mm pistol as an elephnat gun. Lenny said "What are you doing with this 9mm......hunting elephants?"[:0] 0 -
Wouldn't you like to be the guy playing the criminal on these shows and keep going "off script" when they make comments like that.
Of course you'd never make it past the first days shooting before they gave you the boot.0 -
I was watching Law and Order, I really like the show. I thought, I wonder if the folks on the forums like this show? I searched and found this thread. I will kiss ya'll's feet if this was not the exact episode I was watching. 50 caliber Desert Eagle with a 14 round "clip." Practically an assault rifle, just like the original post, dang hollywood types. They take the 14 round mag from the lady who is shooting the gun and she says, never mind, 8 is plenty. Clips are for garands, magazines are for other guns. I don't even know why I watch TV sometimes. 0 -
