Petrino. Is he a head coach?

Bobby boy jumps to the NFL as a head coach. A position of leadership and loyalty. Vick blows his career, and the Falcons flop. Author Blank hears Bobby boy is being recruited by Arkansas through Jerry Jones and meets with Petrino. Petrino shakes his hand and tells him not to worry, he's the head coach of the Falcons. Then, within 24 hours, he sneaks out after leaving a letter in each of his player's lockers and flies to Arkansas where he is announced as their new head coach.

To each his own, but, I wouldn't want a man who can't honor a contract or be true to his word as my coach. Bobby boy has no character and is not a man of his word. The only thing he could lead is the Clinton campaign. The Falcons are better off without him, and he should never be placed in a position of leadership again. Even if he wins a national championship, he's a looser in my eyes.

    He did pretty much the same thing at Louisville. Alway's hearing rumors of him talking to other teams with him denying it. Then he bolted for the Falcon's. They were badmouthing him pretty good today on the pre-game shows.

    I kinda agree with you BT3 but he could have handled things better. Just another example of why I'm losing interest in all pro sports.

    Petrino was in the middle of a long term contract with Louisville when Arthur Blanks lured him away to coach the Falcons.
    So, Blanks should not have been surprised when someone else lured him away from the Falcons. Blanks already knew the kind of man he was.

    I never understood why bobby left louisville he built it into one of the best programs in the country to coach the falcons.

    I read where he signed a 10-year $25m contract at Louisville in January before signing a 5-year $24m contract at Atlanta several months later.

    For $4.8m/year ($400k/month) I would coach the Falcons for a little while.
