Laser sight for Ruger MK II UPDATE

Old eyes aren't what they used to be but I like to hit what I shoot at. Was playing with a friend's laser tonight and I like that thing. Does anyone know if there is one on the market that will fit the above?

Also, are there any made to fit the SKS's? Sorry, but I am just a tad bit behind on this new techonology stuff! Tom

Update: The sight arrived today and I tried to mount it on gun. There are different thickness rubber shims which you are supposed to select to align sight. This a royal PITA. Since there will always be a ruber to metal fit, I don't think it will ever hold zero. I have taken laser off, never to put it back on gun. It will now be used to run my cats crazy. Tom

    Crimson Trace makes one that replaces your grips on the MKII, costs around $200.
    For the SKS I think you'd have to buy a laser and an under barrel mount seperate.

    Jeeezus!! I just checked ebay on the crimson trace and you are right. 200 bucks. I guess I will just have to throw lead to the wild. I just can't see paying that much for a $10 light. I suppose it is like some sellers here, you only have to catch a fool now and then to make it all worthwhile.

    I'll just load the first three with rat shot and if that isn't close enough, maybe I can just out run it! Thanks fellows, Tom

    If you dont have the Bull Barrel you can aquire one that mounts on the bottom of your barel fairly cheap. I have both, if yours has a bull barrel it wont fit. You could buy a MK III and put a Red Dot scope or laser, they come with a weaver rail and scope mounts. I really like mine.

    I have one on my "standard, which for all intents and purposes seems
    to be like the MKII. It was inexpensive and attaches to the finger guard (which I'm not really wild about), but hey, it works.[:)]

    On my Ruger MKII 10 inch bull barrel auto.I got a $39.00 aluminum mount that replaces the right grip panel.It is used to mount Weaver type scope rings.I bought a $26.00 BSA laser and mounted it on the Ruger.Total cost was $65.00 and I can swap to a scope in a matter of minutes.Best of all,I did not have to drill and tap any holes in the gun.

    I've owned a MK II and really regret selling it years ago. It was a super reliable accurate pistol.

    Spryor, I like your set up. The guns look identical so the triggerguard set up might do the trick. What do they call them? I'll try to find one on ebay today.

    I believe ebay is where i found it, but don't remember just what search
    words i used, offhand.

    I'd try an advanced search (title and description) using "ruger laser".

    I reallyyy don't like the way it looks, but it is functional.[:)]

    I've had great success using a Tasco PDPII red dot on my KMKGC678, I tried one of those under-barrel lasers, but they aren't bright enough for sunlight use-heck, I've had trouble finding that itty bitty laser dot in my living room!
    As long as you don't care what it looks like (obviously-why else hang all that crap off a .22 anyway?!), you could just get a 3" hose clamp and stick a flat-sided flashlight like a Streamlight against the side of the barrel and VIOLA! Much Brighter!

    That laser looks a bit off-kilter, pointing at the bottom of the barrel like that....

    Actually it's dead on at 25ft., which would likely be the max. range, if used indoors (which was it's primary purpose). But, it does throw a decent beam on my lower garage that is about 100ft. away.

    I just bought item 370009488738 on ebay. Heck for 20 bucks I can afford to play around with it and if it don't work out, I can always have a giveaway here!

    I'm looking foreward to getting it and will make a report as to how I like it. If I can hit pretty good at about 30 feet or so, I will be very happy. I sort of have the shakes a little so I will have to use a good rest. I have the same problem with hi power scopes. The cross hairs really dance sometimes. Tom

    Looks to be like mine, but in silver. It'll really get out there when dark...and pretty good w/indoor lighting. Congrats!![:)]

    how about a Ruger 10-22 with a built in laser ? like this one

    if you look at the far right edge of the picture you can just see the presure switch , i could sale you the complete rifle in the picture of a new black stock with the built in laser

    Bhale, The light seems to be ok and all that but I got my 20 bucks worth. The light thrown is great at night, I have just been out playing with it. The big problem is the mounting system. Rubber to metal just does not cut it! I tightened it as tight as could go with smallest shims and it would not tighten up. There are 6 different shims with the unit but the problem is: the bolts take about 50 turns with an allen wrench to tighten up! It will take you about 2 weeks to go thru all shim settings turning the screws about 1/2 turn with the allen wrench. It just ain't worth it to me.

    I got those grips off ebay also. IIRC they were near $50. w/shipping and all.

    Come to thnk of it they were made by a guy in TX. I believe, and i posted contact info on the forum here for him. If i can remember what thread, i'll dig it up.
