I just need to rant. My wife took her Marquis to the tire shop to get the tires rotated. She called me on her cell phone and said that the one of the illegals that works there told her that she needed brakes. I told her to tell him thank you and that I would take care of it when I get off work. The rotors needed to be changed anyway because they are out of round and I figured I'd do it all tonite. Guess what?!! The brakes were perfect. Plenty of pad left. Almost brand new. I put new rotors on and now it slows and stops like a dream. The Burban gets new ones tomorrow nite after work.

    P*ss on "being nice". I full well expect that anytime I let
    my other half take a vehicle for repair, they will try to pull one
    over on her.

    When my oldest daughter was 18 and expecting, I made her an appt. to get her brakes fixed at a local shop. She called me crying and said that the mechanic told that her tires were bad and she probably wouldn't make it home on them. I had just had her car inspected (at a different shop) and they had passed. That was 14 years ago and I haven't been back to that place since. NEVER send a woman to get ANY work done on a car unless you know the people there won't rip her off.

    When I send my wife to the tire or alignment shop, which is the only time we pay anybody else to do anything to our cars, I tell her exactly what we are getting and to not let anyone sell her anything else.

    I was told writers work on straight commission with no salary around here.
    Our experience taught us to never send a woman. They are most taken advantage of.

    It's the wife's car. i even had all the tires purged of their and nitrogen put in. Major difference.

    Isn't standard air 78% nitrogen to begin with?
