The fence will never be seen while Bush is in office,.......that is something that you can take to the bank.
That was nothing but a ploy to buy time, and get his bill passed.

Penn and Teller did a segment on this.
They used a crew of six swarthy men who work for dimes on the dollar
It took the gentlemen something like eight hours to build a fence according to INS specs. Then they had three teams (two men each) of "undocumenteds" go either over, through or under the fence. It was done in minutes.
I laughed so hard I almost wet myself.
The futility of merely building a fence in the face of such determination was never so clearly demonstrated.
It's clear tht a fence alone is not going to do the job. It's just another half-assed, feel-good exercise in vote-getting.0 -
