Ever had a muslim doctor?

I did, he was good, cured my low back pain, he went back to pakistan shortly after nine eleven.

    Pretty much unavoidable. At lest half the doctors in this area (although I haven't checked if they are card-carrying Muslims) have Middle Eastern names.
    Friend of mine is married to a podiatrist who is a Sikh (sort of an in between/combination of Hindu and Islam), although he is from one of the more progressive branches, he does not wear a turban and he cuts his hair.
    He states that when a doctor fisnishes his/her education in their native country, they seek a "sponsor" in the States, who will I guess vouch for their character and intentions. They then come to the States, work for a few years, which is a highly desireable accomplishment, then move to Canada, or back to their own country to set up shop.

    I'm in rural Louisiana where it's very hard to recruit doctors, and sometimes the foreigners are willing to go to places others won't go in order to get their green cards. That said, we have some of the finest country doctors anywhere right here in my little bitty town, 2 of them have been here for 35 and 30 years, and are well liked by our community of rednecks.

    One was a pretty staunch Muslim until his daughters had a wreck and almost died, and lots of folks in this predominately Christian community prayed for them. I think he caught a glimpse of "love your neighbor," and now he's much less rigid in his religion.

    Apparantly the younger generation is different, though. If you're sick enough to think up using a passenger plane as a weapon I suppose you could eventually come up with using doctors for terrorists. I just don't get how one could be smart enough and hard working enough to get to be a doctor and still do something like that.
