Would you rat out your Mom?
Boy, 8, Calls 911 to Report Mom's Drunk-Driving
VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) -- The calls kept coming in to 911 -- from an 8-year-old boy who was riding in a car with his mother.
He told operators that she wasn't "acting normal."
His mother was eventually arrested for investigation of drunken driving.
Authorities in Vancouver, Washington, say deputies caught up with Paulette Spears less than a minute after she pulled up to a fire station on Saturday to say she had a medical problem. They'd been tracking her down using the boy's cell phone calls, and his description of what he could see from the car.
At one point during the drive, police say she had taken the cell phone from the boy, told the dispatcher not to worry, and hung up. The boy called back, and again his mother cut the call off.
The boy and a 5-year-old child who was also in the car have been placed with an aunt.

The kid did the right thing. He was probably afraid for his, and his younger siblings life. 0 -

You were driving drunk in your house?[:D]0 -
First I would say NO but after reading this I think the kid did the right thing in that situation but every situation is different. She obviously did not give a damn about the kids. 0 -
That's what mama gets for giving a five year old a phone. 0 -
Actually, I can't imagine being in that situation, but if I thought she was about to kill me and there was nothing I could do about it, yes, I'd rat her out.
I heard this morning that she bit the boy to get the phone away from him. Nice lady.0 -

She's facing an assault charge for that little stunt, on top of her other problems.
White trash!
No offense intended to any members here of course.0 -
Heard on the news that she has a history of DUI. She put her kids in danger. I don't feel sorry for her at all. She was even poking the kid trying to make him hang up. If you hear the tape if the 911 call, I doubt you will defend her. 0 -
I heard the 911 call on the news. The boy was mad because Mom kept poking him in the ribs with her finger. 0 -
no one ever said what she blew. 0 -

If you said she looks like a pig, it would be an insult to the pig.
The boy did right.
I also heard the call.

I heard that on the radio. Thought it was kind of funny. The boy kept calling 911 and the mom kept hanging up. 0 -
He was not driving in his house. His mom did, or was it into his house. Or maybe the house drove into mom, which is why it was handled in the house. But, I am not quite sure. Any way shame on the boy for doing the right thing. Kids doing the right thing, what is this world coming to. 0 -
...This dirtbag is not a "Mom" to begin with, putting her children in that deadly situation...[;)]
