Opinion please! (freecycle posting)
I belong to a few local freecycle groups, check out this exchange, do you think it's a scam? I find it hard to believe she won't give out the name of a gunshop? or am I being cynical?

Subject:WANT: Hunting Clothes Items and Accessories.
Hi Everyone!
I'm looking for hunting clothes and or any
hunting items and
accessories! I'm a leader of a youth hunting
group
(Take a kid hunting)and we're in need of the items above!
Anything is appreciated!
Kids range in age of 13 to 18 and are all
sizes!
Thank you in advance!
Hi ----,
What kind of hunting? do you need orange or
cammo?
what is the name of the ORG?
Don
Hi Don,
We have a gun shop here locally that has brought
together local outdoor parents that have
dedicated time to local teenagers interested in outdoor
activities which includes hunting! It's an
awesome adventure! It's all non-profit and as we know
hunting equipment is expensive! I'm looking for
both hunter orange and camo. We are preparing the
kids for small game the 15th of September. Any help
us appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi ----,
Sounds interesting, What shop?
Don
Don,
Seeing that I don't know you and to protect the
privacy of the kids I cannot reveal that! I'm
sorry!
Where are you located? Do you have kids that might
have an interest? Let me know and I may be able to
get you information on our groups!
Let me know!
Thank you!
I can't do business with a shop that I don't know
the name of, I don't know if I have any surplus
equipment, but I might support the shop.
Don
Thank you anyway! Sorry for the inconvenience. It
makes me quite uncomfortable to give that
information out! I have had some quite unusual and
odd experiences with other freecyclers! Do know that
freecycle is a group that I belong to and was an
idea of mine to seek out what we need through our
friendly freecyclers!
Sorry for any trouble!

Freecycling can be a great experience but it can also have a dark side.
Someone from Lafayette asking for donations for items to send to her husband's unit in Iraq received threatening emails causing her to withdraw the request.
The police were notified and traced the emails to servers at Purdue University which leaves a pretty big pool of suspects.
This person may have had similar bad experiences with liberal jerks and thus really is protecting privacy.0 -

Maybe, but not giving the gunshop name? I don't use a "alias" e-mail, and it takes only a couple clicks to find me. I can't believe a gunshop would not want their name "plugged"!
