A Goodbye Party

My buddy's dog has cancer. We've decided to see him out in a big way.
So many people will attend he had to rent porta jons.
Warrior The friendliest Rott I have ever seen...
This dog has more friends that most people..
I can honestly say I love this dog!!
A party so everyone can say goodbye!!!
This pooch never grew out of the puppy stage. Was 175lbs a month ago 145lbs now,

    BOY ...This thread hit home! I lost a Rotty about 9 moths ago to cancer! Bailey was a GREAT dog! He was alittle over 5 yr.s old. Gently as a kitten, neighbor kids use to come over to ask if he could play! He like the game "keep-away" *G* He too was 175 pounds, and people loved him or were scared stiff of him. Unfortunately the Vet was afraid, Bailey hated the thermometer getting stuck up his butt and grab the little Vet tech by the arm ...didn't break the skin or hurt her; he held her arm, letting her know he didn't like this part! Well that pretty much had everyone scared there ...Vet won't touch him; he'd make diagnosis at long range. Had brought him in because he was limping ...said it was muscle strain, well after afew month and no better I notice a swelling near his front leg at the chest ...X-rays pointed to cancer, tried the chemo route had to drive 250 miles to get it ...but no luck, finally had to put him to sleep. He died in my arms. Then about 5 months later my wife had the cats in the Vet's office and told them "IF" they ever had a Rotty pup that needed a home to give her a call. Well about 2 weeks later she got a call, some Texas trucker had rescued a young Rotty, and had him along the trip for a friend. Well the truck broke down, and he couldn't get it fixed so had to head home. lived with his Dad ...who hated dogs. So the trucker calls a "local vet" and told his story ...find a home or he goes to the SPCA. They called my wife, and the next thing I know we have another Rotty! This poor dog had heart worms (which we fixed) now ear problems (allergenic to some food stuffs). This poor dog needed us and much as we needed him! He's as much of a goof-ball as Bailey was, loves to ride in a car, and had alerted us to one attempted break-in one night. I didn't want to try to replace Bailey, but Hercules needed a home BAD and it'd worked out pretty well! ...I could do without all the drooling thought! *L* Sorry to be long winded here, my suggestion would be to remember the dog, talk about the good times ...was one of the ways my wife and I got through loosing Bailey at first.     Even if he's not your dog, spend as much time as you can with him. You'll be glad you did.

    It looks like we are only a few weeks from doing the same for our beloved Jet, a Female Labrador who has been our friend for over twelve years...her hip goes out every time she gets up, and she won't come ask to go out anymore, so we are dealing with wet bedding a lot. We are waiting for our Daughter to come home for Christmas leave from the USAF, as Jet was her Christmas present on Crystal's Ninth Birthday....

    That is odd... My son had my Ex wait till he got home from Iraq before she put their dog Kino down!!!
