Alligator eats Dog
Alligator Captured, Killed After it Ate Dog
BLUFFTON, S.C. (AP) -- An eight-foot alligator has been captured and killed after it ate a dog.
The gator had been in Bluffton for more than a week, and Critter Management officials say it ate a beagle-mix named Truffles on Monday.
Billy Karijanian of Critter Management says it was an aggressive alligator.
The reptile attacked another dog last week, but the dog escaped and the gator disappeared.
Karijanian says when officials found the alligator Tuesday, it was hauled away and harvested for meat.
Property owners in the Pine Ridge community had expressed concern about the animal, and they say they're now relieved the alligator is gone.

Nope. The pitbull would have ate the alligator.0 -
Sad story, but if I had a beagle mix that's anything like the two beagles my son has, I'd get an alligator just to have a way to get rid of the dog.[}:)][;)] Awful little critters! 0 -
Pet animals get ate by wild critters everywhere. Coyotes keep the cat population down around here. And they'll eat dogs too. Remember when Ozzy Osbourne saved his dog from a coyote? 0 -

Hobbyguy, I live in New Orleans. You should see the alligators now that have bred wild in City Park, after Katrina.FEMA finally gave the city a"little" money to clean up the park. We just got rid of about 40 wild boars that had taken over parts of the park. I can't wait to see what they do with all of these alligators.[8D]
Earl, I would personally sign up to exterminate the gators w/a S&W 500mag if they supply the ammo, can ya get me a job?,Loko[:D]0 -
I live close to a lake, and when we were little kids we would go fishing there all the time. We had an ole black lab of a dog that went where we went. On one occasion the dog wondered down just beyond our sight but not far. We heard a yelp, and some fellows in a boat said an alligator had got our dog. I guess better him than us. 0 -
