SHELTER TAKES BACK DOG ALREADY IN GOOD HOME..
I know most of you guys dont watch Ellen, as I dont, but this was on the radio show I listen to in the morning....
Seems Ellen adopted a dog (brussels griffon mix) from a shelter, but after a bit found it wouldnt get along and was over energetic (boss's wife has one---never stops, constant jumping and running) so she gave the dog to the family that had already bonded with the dog,...a family with 2 girls that fell in love with the dog and already knew it...
Seems Ellen broke the shelters contract that if the dog doesnt get along, it goes BACK to the shelter instead of to another loving home where the dog is already wanted and loved...
The shelter came and took the dog back...
Ellen made a tearful plea on her show today for the shelter to give the dog back to the family, saying it was her fault, not the dog's and not the family she gave the dog to...the little girls are heartbroken and want the Iggy back....
A shelter/rescue, I thought, wanted dogs to be placed in good loving homes, but they took the dog out of a home...
The link includes a video of Ellen telling the story in her own words, and a printed article along with it...

I think the dog should go back to the family Ellen gave it to..As long as the dog is cared for, wanted, loved what is so wrong?...

The dog went from a Gay home to a Normal home, to much Psychological stress involved thus the dog was returned for medical treatment and evaluation!!![:D]
I do agree, the important thing was that the dog had a good home!!!0 -
Story was on NBC Nightly News. She should have known the rules when she adopted the dog and should have returned to the shelter to "work something out" with the shelter and her hairdresser's family---the family that had taken the dog. The family deserves the dog; but, I think, she (gay one) wants the media coverage. Just another celebrity wanting to get away with breaking the rules. 0 -
Rules are rules, when you adopt from a shelter you sign a contract, agreeing to return the pet to the shelter if it does not work out.
(I signed one when I got Daisy)[:D]
It sounds like Ellen did not do her research on dog breeds or checked
the pup she adopted to see how it rated with cats, most rescues & shelters will test adoptable pets for compatability with other pets.
I think it is another hollyweird celeb who thinks they can do as they please.[V]

Now, that is insulting to any dog that has ever been in a pound.0 -
GAG ME WITH A SPOON...saw the news blurb on this ...now i prefer some pets to most people but PLUUEESE...the first vision that came to mind while this was airing was a veteran with two new steel legs making his way thru parallel bars.....now this is what should be on the national news honoring the true grit of an AMERICAN...it should rank higher than a dog...just hit me that way 0 -
As much as one cares about the soldiers and their hurdles, there is a whole world out there yet,...things are happening all over, there is laughter, love, joy, sorrow, crying and its about everything...
Focus on one thing and a person can become bitter and mean....0 -

As most laws tend to do..They develop powers of their own, transcending the original motivation behind them. Then they are enforced just because they exist, not because of any purpose they were once meant to have.
That is exactly how "Political Correctness" manages to exist, in spite of the fact that everyone on earth knows how stupid it is. Well, that and the usefullness it has in suing every thing that moves..0 -
ok, yea, that was sad. 0
