Don't buy from amazon dot com -scamers

Dec 6 I ordered books, four for 80 bucks - their ad said elegable for free shipping - at "check out" a note said "will arrive after Dec 25" est as late as Jan 9, select another shipping option" So select regular shipping for 6.87 est 3 to 5 days. So 6.97 is added to my bill. Now a message comes up that says "won't arrive until after Dec 25, est Jan 9. - Still more thana a month out - what the H happebed to 3-5 days??? -- A message pops up that says for expididted shipping join some member thing for 75 bucks or so -- it's a scam! The only other choices for shipping are very expensive one to 2 day -- this is a ripe off - I just checked, it has been a week since the order and still not shipped. THOSE BASSTURDS!! No excuse to not ship to get here by xmas when ordered Dec 6 - where else can I warn folks about these aholes?

    I order DVD's from them all the time, and have never had an issue.
    They predict their shipping way out, I guess to cover their rear.
    I always use the free shipping, and my last order arrived in 4 days from the order date,.......none have taken longer than 7 days.

    Made several purchases through them with no complaints. Qualified for free shipping more than once. Prompt service. sorry for your experience though.

    I've ordered from them for years and never had that problem. Just cancel your order and go buy them at Borders or Barnes & Noble if they're Christmas gifts.

    I think you missed something. I purchase from Amazon pretty much weekly and have had one shipper flake out and one e-mail to say he was sorry, but he did not have the book in stock. Amazon made both good. I have found them reliable for several years.

    Thats odd... I ordered some on the 7th and they shipped out on the 10th with free shipping.

    Are you sure that they had the items in stock when you ordered? That is the only reason I could think of for them not to ship immediately. I just ordered my textbooks for next semester from them on Monday and they were shipped yesterday.

    I have never had problem, I have always gone with the cheepest shipping and my books have always arrived in less than 2 weeks, even though they said it could take 6 weeks.

    I've used Amazon for years. I haven't once had a problem with them. The only time I had to get a little impatient was when I had to deal with a private seller using the amazon website to sell their stuff. I got my stuff eventually, but it was the individual's fault, not amazon's

    Same here, I've used Amazon for years, including items for this Christmas, and not had any problems. I've had delays in shipping an item; but, that is nothing but supply and demand.

    The PO has a special rate for shipping books-it can take a long time.

    I'd wonder if it was the "release date" thing one might see. Like some books are projected to be released on such date and may "Pre-Order". Kind a like the 5 disc Final Cut of "Blade Runner" on DVD which is out on Dec. 18, 2007 and one could've pre ordered it months back. Perhaps it's one of those situation you might be in? Otherwise it's out of stock like mentioned.

    I've never had a problem with them. I just 2 books today from them, they are 4 days early.

    I have never ever had a problem with Amazon.com.

    But then again I have never and most likely never will buy from them or any eBay store. As soon as I see a company related to them. I go looking elsewhere for what I want.
