Colt Diamondback
My wifes boss gave me a gun today to take home and clean for him. Told me I could shoot it for as long as I like. He pulls out of a holster a like-new 4" .38 Diamondback. He said he inherited it from his wife's aunt. How do I tactfully tell him I'll be shooting it for the next 20 years? This is the first time I've fired one and I must say I'm impressed. Very very nice trigger in both SA/DA. He said he's "thought about getting rid of it", so I suppose the RIGHT thing for me to do is explain exactly what he has and what it's worth? I tell you guys something.......having morals and trying to do what's best is sometimes a royal pain in the ass

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that it is the finest .22 cal revolver ever made. Of course that is always debatable. Not by me though!!!!0 -

Supply and demand. They quit making them about 20 years ago.
10 years ago I paid $180 for a 4" .38 D'back and $325 for a like new 4" .22 and thought I was robbed.0 -

IMO the Colt .22 Officers Model Match is twice the revolver at half the price. Anyone want to argue Diamondback vs. OMM? 0 -
They are a nice gun but in my opinion not nearly as durable as a Smith K22. If you want a collector gun, the Diamondback is probably it. If you want a quality .22 revolver to use, and use a lot, look at a Smith. 0
