...Excellent! I had one daughter so it was up to me to either put a gun in her hands, or lipstick and other "foo-foo" things...I chose a gun and a fishing rod. Her Mom saw to more than enough "foo-foo"...and my daughter will foo-foo with the best of 'em, out fish and out shoot most of 'em.

...Now with 3 children and one due anytime now...she shoots, likes firearms and can't ever wait to go bass fishing or to go shooting...[^]

My mistake. I read this as Colt's wife is about to have the fourth child.
I still think that Colt and his wife did a great job.
I am slowly working on my wife. She shoots and has recently started hunting with me. She owns her own guns and is seriously thinking about starting to carry on a regular basis.

.270. Take notice of how long the bolt opening is. A .243 is much smaller.

She took her .243 which is blued she wanted for her 10th birtday. First time that she has gotten to shoot hers. I shot it first since it was just Bore Sighted. The red dots tell the story. Aiming at the bottom two diamonds at 100 yards. Took it and got it right with another target then let her have it. Her nine rounds are highlighted in yellow. The last group (top left) I made her pause before firing each round. Actually I had her stand up and turn a 360 then get back on the target. It paid off big time with that group.

The black dots are where I stapled the target to the stand.

Some try to tell me that good pellet guns are a waste of time. Can't prove that by me when I see a ten year old shoot 3 inch or less groups at 100 yds their first time out with a "high powered" rifle..

That is my middle one. She is into everything that has to do with being in the woods or on the water. Never saw a kid that loves to shoot, rustic camp and Trout fish the way she does. I am glad that she takes after you mom when it comes to lip-stick and "foo-foo". Less the better for them..

First time shooting a high power?
    WOW
That is a target she can be proud of.
At least that is my opinion.
I would put the date, gun, etc. on the back of that one, and keep it.
You can also use it to show her future "boy" friends. [;)]

Give her a WTG girl, from one of the old geezers on the forum. [:D][:D]

Thanks, she put a smile on my face.

great to see this. I have a 2 year old daughter and look forward to getting her into shooting. Like yours, she cann "foo foo" with my mother. My wife like shooting as do her parents. Good going. Will be getting a pellet gun for her in the next few years.

Glad you didn't listen to 'em! A good BB or pellet gun is great for a kid to actually learn to shoot without the noise and recoil. Started my son on a BB gun when he was 5. He still loves to shoot it! And it is great practice.
