Oversalted burger leads to arrest...
Bad cop...or stupid employee??
UNION CITY, Ga. - A McDonald's employee spent a night in jail and is facing criminal charges because a police officer's burger was too salty, so salty that he says it made him sick.
Kendra Bull was arrested Friday, charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and freed on $1,000 bail.
Bull, 20, said she accidentally spilled salt on hamburger meat and told her supervisor and a co-worker, who "tried to thump the salt off."
On her break, she ate a burger made with the salty meat. "It didn't make me sick," Bull told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
But then Police Officer Wendell Adams got a burger made with the oversalted meat, and he returned a short time later and told the manager it made him sick.
Bull admitted spilling salt on the meat, and Adams took her outside and questioned her, she said.
"If it was too salty, why did (Adams) not take one bite and throw it away?" said Bull, who has worked at the restaurant for five months. She said she didn't know a police officer got one of the salty burgers because she couldn't see the drive-through window from her work area.
Police said samples of the burger were sent to the state crime lab for tests.
City public information officer George Louth said Bull was charged because she served the burger "without regards to the well-being of anyone who might consume it."

Actually I have been watching the salt for over a year now (doc's orders) A couple wks ago I got a salt packet mixed the peppers and like a dummy I ate it anyway. Let me put it this way... I felt bad enough worry about it. 0 -
I can imagine that it wasn't just a case where he was just unhappy with his food. Knowing he deals with the public every day and the amount of crap he probobly puts up with.....for him to arrest someone for TAMPERRING WITH HIS FOOD seems justified to me. An officer has many people with bad attitudes toward him simply because he is in uniform. If someone did something to MY food I would want them to be punished for it. I say charge the person for the crime they committed and maybe this will keep others from thinking it is funny to feed a person sabotaged food....who knows what else this person has fed police officers in the past. They just got caught this time. 0 -

Yeah, well I didn't get my extra onions either. Imagine a dispatcher getting a call from a citizen that his barfburger has "Too much salt"? If cops are afraid to take the same chances as everyone else in society, they have the option to bag lunch or buy a frozen burrito at Seven Eleven.
Before that thin blue line gets knotted up, my post is directed at the Fife's that don't have the good sense to pour piss out of a boot and the lack of gray matter to prove it. Lots of places around here give cops on duty a free meal. Nothing wrong with that. They never bitch about it either. You guys know what I'm talking about. Gift horse and all.0 -
Should have been dealt with at an employee / manager level after the cop complained w/o involvement of the courts and cops..
This a really a waste of tax money and court time, better spent on real issues.0 -

Unless Adams can prove Bull was deliberately trying to "tamper" with his burger, its a silly waste of time.
On the flip side....... It sounds like a stupid move by Bull's supervisor. The supervisor should have just told Bull to discard the burger and make another one rather then try to dump the salt off.0 -

That is why I like going in on duty in my FIre or Paramedic uniform [:D]. We get great service almost all of the time.0 -
I wonder what the comments would be if it wasnt a cop that got the burger but a regular person who then had Bull arrested?..
Stupid waste of time...she didnt know it was a cop, she said she couldnt see the window from where she was, and that would be easy enough to prove...and why not go after her supervisor????...the supervisor is the one who made the call on whether or not to throw it out or use it....0 -

when that cop took that guy outside to "question" him, he probably did it that way so he can say whatever he wants about the conversation without any witnesses. if there's a dispute about what was said, as any lawyer will tell you (and they've told me) it's the cop's word over yours. so, if that happens to you, refuse to go outside. it's not necessary.
I've had cops take my friends outside to "question" them, and I went right along with, they really didn't like that but when I told them I'm there to be a witness they apparently couldn't do anything about it.
the more you know about their tricks, the less they can get away with.
another trick they do is write whatever the hell they can think up on the police report, and you don't even know anything false, wrong or misleading was written because a) most people don't bother to go look and see what was on it and b) sometimes the police dept. will flat out refuse to give you a copy of the report without hiring a lwayer to make them give it to you.0 -

Maybe, but Bull admitted there was too much salt, and the supervisor and a coworker both knew there was a lot of salt also. Maybe thats not 'tamper', but possiably sort of other issue. Are there any health inspector rules about knoweyling selling products that might be bad, or make people sick.0
