my take on "casino royal"
first it was a very good movie, good plot, acting, and enough action to satisfy anyone, but however, the character of bond was a bit disappointing, not the guy who played him, he did a fine job, but for the first time James bond lost his cool more than once, he was not James bond
DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU HAVN'T SEEN IT
1. bond would have never left the only pretty woman in the movie without knocking off a piece, i am referring to the Hispanic hottie, not the bond girl

2. when asked if he wanted his martini shaken or stirred, he said quote: i don't care, very angry, bond would always be cool enough to take the time to enjoy a martini
3. when being tortured, although it was funny as hell bond would have never acted that way
4. my biggest disappointment was the "bond girl", she was a beach, or shall i say CU#T, and not attractive to boot

bond never lost his cool under any pressure, and never missed a piece

And I have lived my life the same way. Don0 -
That movie rocks, agree with the girls, but like the more real, brutal and consistant with the book Bond! 0 -
So you don't think Jim ought to lose his cool?
You should have seen him once after he came from a mission where I had loaded his PPK with blanks as a gag.

I, for one, am glad the childish Bond is gone. The new realism makes good movie fare.0 -
The intro foot-chase scene showed promise... 0 -
I thought the movie was great, including Bond losing his cool. You've got to remember, the movie takes place when Bond is a brand new agent...he becomes 007 at the beginning of the movie. In that sense, he's still a little brash and headstrong...he's not supposed to be at the Sean Connery in Goldfinger stage yet. 0 -
I just saw the movie and thought it was really a great start to the real Bond portrayed Ian Flemings books. Basicly Bond is an assasin...cold blooded killer (in flemings books). I can't wait for the next 007. 0 -

Yes, the Bond fleming created in his books. Casino Royale portrayed bond the way he was meant to be portrayed. I know it is a work of fiction "real" was a bad choice of words I guess if you like nit picking about those things. Most of the 007 movies are far from flemings original character of James Bond in the books. The books are far better than any of the movies, which in most cases is the way it turns out.0 -
But where was the Hi-tech gadgets and the guy who made them? 0 -

Well that's a good reason[:0] But i thought this movie would be along the same lines as all the others[:(]0 -
If I wanted to watch 45 minutes of high-stakes poker I'd have turned on whichever ESPN channel televises the World Series.
I liked Bond and the fact that the movie didn't rely too heavily on techno-gadgets but what kind of plot was that?0 -
Have not watched a Bond movie since Roger Moore! I'm only 30 but the newer Bonds just don't do anything for me. 0 -
If the movie is about Bond in the beginning of his career wouldn't everything be old (old cars, weapons, aircraft, ect)? Shouldn't it have taken place in the late 50's or early 60's? Just wondering. I haven't seen it yet so I guess I need to rent it. 0 -

Think of it as starting the whole series over. If you wanted to get really picky about the era, all the Bonds in the last 20 years or so would be senior citizens.0
