1901 Remington rolloing block
I have a 1901 Remington rolling block I am trying to get info on.
On top tang inscription reads Remington arms co.. Illion, New York, Patented October 22, 1901...On the bottom tang is a serial number 1307. Cal 7MM. 29 inch barrel. Two band Military musket configuration stock.. I have had several EXPERTS tell so many different things about the rifle that I'm not certain what it represents. The darn thing shoots great and is in really good condition. I have been told that it is a #5 action. [A #1 but with better steels]. I've also been told that the serial numbver isn't really a serial number but and ASSEMBLY NUMBER. One EXPERT told me just today that ALL 7MM rifles were conversions from othere calibers?? Anyone got any info this rifle?

Got a picture? From your description and the patent date, it's certainly a Model 1902 #5 (smokeless) action...the final Rem. RB production model...and the 2-band stock sounds like a military contract. Does the barrel have a bayonet lug?

Re: My Mod 1902 Remington Rolling Block. It does have a bayonet lug which is part of the forend cap. Forgot to mention.." it cleaning rod is missing and there is no markings on the stock or forend or handguard"
I have photos. I'll e-mail them to you. What is your e-mail address. Mine is phamr1@earthlink.net0 -

Re: Rem 1902 RB.
I have not used this forum before. Not familier with attachments.
I'll send photos when I find out if I can do that in this forum.
