40 cal.Steyr M 1-A an accurate reliable semi-auto?

Thanks guys,
But I think I'd better go with the M 1-A model still in production that I can get at my local gun shop.

Is it accurate, reliable and durable, please?

  I had some experience with the 9mm version, not the .40, but it was accurate and durable. I had one failure to eject out of around 900 rounds total, but I was shooting reloads that day so I don't think it was a failure on the part of the gun.

  I will be VERY careful when I start reloading too.
  
  But that particular grip configuration(confortable,high-more inline with barrel), combined with the very low bore axis also...is supposed to cause recoil to be generally straight back, and produce Very low muzzel flip.
  
  Should be great for a 40 cal.

  I was at the range and bought some of their reloads - I don't trust myself enough to do that sort of thing.[;)]
  
  The Steyr M series pistol is a nice gun - probably the best polymer-framed pistol I've ever fired in terms of comfort and control. Of course, it's not like I've fired everything, but I do prefer it over any Glock and even the H&K USP.

  Thanks guys,
  I've ordered a M 1-A from my Cabela's gun shop(who doesn't carry it in regular stock). I'll see if I Like it and let you all know how it feels, fires and accuracy, etc.
  
  My 2nd choice for low bore axis(low muzzel flip) is a CZ. I think they are both quality firearms, and might need to make a choice. I'm still leaning towards the Steyr. I think the high grip will function well with the very low bore axis and would be best for target reaquisition in double tap and rapid fire situations.
  
  Heck, I may need to buy them both to tell.
  
  I'll let you all know when my special order on a Steyr M 1-A get delivered to Cabela's.
  
  I really like low bore axis weapons, guys.
