Getting my 40 cal. Steyr semi-auto tomorrow!!
Thanks for the advise on the auction. I even went and put my credit card number in.
But a local gun shop here in Texas has found me one and I take delivery tomorrow!
Woohoo! for $450 new!
I'm off to the range again.
Can't Wait to fire it to see if the muzzel flip is as low as I've read!
Thanks guys

Definitely need a range report![:D] 0 -
Will do, guys
It is supposed to be thunder storming tomorrow here in central Texas. So it may have to be on the weekend....but I WILL be sure to report back, friends!0 -
Does it have the trapezoid/triangle sights?
If so, let me know what you think of them, and how accurate they are.0 -
Give us some feedback. Muzzle flip with heavy recoilling pistols has permanently hurt my right hand and wrist. 0 -
Great Going. I turned in my Glock 22 about 4 years ago to shoot a Steyr M40 exclusively. I have never looked back. You will love the sighting system and I bet it will be the best shooting gun straight out of the box you have ever fired. Let us all know. 0 -
Trader Dave,
I really would like to have gotten the M40, but they aren't being imported from Austria anymore. And I think may be out of production also.
I'm getting an MA-1 40 cal.0 -
I Will report back, guys.
I'll post a report and show photos of everything(including a "business end" photo combination of the bore axises comparison between it, my Glock 23 and Stoeger(Beretta)Cougar.
Yes, it is supposed to have triangle sights. They are said to be low profile for unimpeded holstering and unholstering....but are also said to take just a little bit of getting used to.
I Definitely will give an honest report on the amount of, or lack there of, in muzzel flip, v35.0 -
Had a huge thunder and rainstorm last night, so the range will be a swamp for a day or so....can't report on it's accuracy, muzzel flip or use yet....Soon.
Between my Glock 23 and new Steyr M40A-1, Tte grip feel/angles are about the same(the Steyr grip is longer though, and the bore axis is actually lower on my Glock (photos soon) Not any difference/improvement there. I really think the previous M40 would have been an improvement...but they aren't in production now.
But I HAVE found out one thing with Absolute Sureness.....It IS ABSOLUTELY THE Fastest, Easiest, Most Simple pistol I've Ever owned to field strip!
more after I use it, guys
Photos later0
