    Where I am from, we hunt Squirrels with a .22short shooting rifle, or pistol. Shotguns are for Skeet, Trap and BIRDS.[:D][:D]

    I always hunted 'em with a .22. Wish I were going with you, not many squirrels to hunt here.

    DOG: come down here, we gots millions of them little grey ones, takes ten of em to make a squirrel sandwich. The bigger squirrels here are protected.. IE: Red, and Monkey squirrels, cant shoot em..

    Classic, I know squirrel monkeys, but never heard of a monkey squirrel. We have tassel ears (Abert's) and pine squirrels and rock squirrels (a ground squirrel that looks like a gray with spots, but isn't hunted), but 7 years of drought have made them somewhat thin in the woods.

    A monkey Squirrel is actually a black faced squirrel that is quite large.. I have only seen them here in Florida, they are called monkey squirrels by the locals here. Better Known as the "FOX squirrel"

    Leaves are still on the trees here. Just about have to use the shotgun. But I kill both birds with one stone. Have a Marlin 22 over 20. Great little squirrel gun!

    cartod - You need a good .410 or 28 pump gun for squirrels. I always feel like I am over gunned taking a 20 or 12.
