Any semi-auto forum for Austin, TX people?

I've looked and not found anything local in my area(about local stuff, sales, help, info. etc.)

Does anyone know of a forum for people in the Greater Austin Area? I believe San Antonio has something, but want people closer to my where I hang out.
(semi-auto pistols...not for trap shooting, hunting, or rifle folks, please)Regular handguns....not exotic target shooting and competition meets...just owners of regular production pistols, please).

Anybody know of one?

    While it is not a austin only forum try the hometown Texas forum on arfcom it has many austin members.

    Remember Austin is kind of the center of the liberal socialist progressive movement in Texas. They have a turn the other cheek forum and a how to die with diginity forum. Gun forums? I don't think so!

    You obviously aren't in tune with anything but the hippie side of Austin.

    The Governor has proposed legislation to let concealed handgun license holders carry in bars, all public places, businesses(unless signs indicate you can't), courthouses, churches, schools...everywhere.

    Thats positive, but the hybrid crowd is not going to be pleased with that new legislation.[:0]

    On Wednesday, May 9, the Texas Senate gave final approval to House Bill 991, the Concealed Handgun License confidentiality (CHL) bill sponsored by State Representative Patrick Rose (D-Dripping Springs) and State Senator Bob Deuell (R-Greenville). The bill now goes to Governor Rick Perry (R) for his signature.



    Passage of this measure to keep records of CHLs private for personal security reasons is the culmination of an effort that spanned three legislative sessions. The media aggressively opposed the measure, and passage of HB 991 is a key victory for law-abiding Texas CHLs.



    Please take a moment to send a note of thanks to the authors of the bill: Representative Patrick Rose at patrick.rose@house.state.tx.us and Senator Bob Deuell at bob.deuell@senate.state.tx.us.

    This blows me away. Why is it so important to the media to have access to the files of gun permit holders????[?][?]

    They only need it in Texas, because... well, you know... Texans live there.

    If them Texans lived in Orygun, I would certainly want to know which of them was heeled.

    I don't know of any forums, but you might want to ask around some of the gun stores. I know of Red's (which is also a shooting range), Heritage Firearms, and McBride's. I've been told McBride's is where you look, Heritage is where you buy (they discount prices a lot), and Red's is where you shoot.

    Another NRA bulletin about gun law in Texas.
    Do you still think everyone in Austin is liberal or hippies?

    It will be legal for Anyone(except felons and people intending to commit a crime)to carry handguns in their cars, even WITHOUT a concealed handgun license for their own protection.

    Tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, May 17, the Senate Criminal Justice Committee will consider House Bill 1815 by Representative Carl Isett (R-Lubbock) and Senator Juan Hinojosa (D-McAllen).

    This important NRA-supported measure will clarify, once and for all, that it is legal to transport a handgun in your motor vehicle for personal protection without a Concealed Handgun License (CHL), provided you are eligible to possess the firearm under state and federal law, you are not a member of a criminal street gang, and you are not committing any criminal activity at the time (other than a traffic violation,) and as long as the handgun is hidden from plain view.
