Ending Sunday 12/23 ??
I'm helping a buddy sell off some of his guns. 10 day auctions starting today end on Sunday the 23rd. Any of you old timers have any opinions on if this is good or bad for sales?

Well, if it's good stuff, and you start them all off at 1 penny with no reserves, you should generate a lot of interest and have a lot of people deciding to view ALL the stuff you have for sale. As long as you don't lose any money in the deal, I don't see it as bad. In a way, it's almost like advertising (again, if the 10 guns you are selling for him generate interest in the rest of your auctions). 0 -

He has his own gunbroker account. I encouraged him to have faith and start the auctions a 1 cent but he doesn't want to risk the loss.
The point of the question was ending the auction on a holiday weekend, not just any holiday weekend but the Sunday before Christmas.
Edit = surely some of you folks have opinions on whether ending auctions on a holiday weekend is good or bad???????0 -
Sweet!!! wish I could afford it!!! 0 -
I'm going to start one today and hope for the best. You could watch mine for a day and see how it goes. Different type of weapon, I'm sure, but it might give some indication. 0 -
I don't see how it could be bad. Most people have more time off from work, therefore will spend more time surfing. Some will have extra cash to spend (holiday bonuses and such). So, my opinion is that it won't be any worse than normal and better than if it ended in early January, when all the credit card bills with Christmas charges come rolling in. 0
