Good ole Sandusky Register
The Sandusky Register has declared war on citizens who have legally obtained a Concealed Handgun License. They are publishing the name, age, and county of residence of every license holder in a five county area.
With this information, criminals can easily find home addresses and compile a shopping list for break-ins, theft, assault, and harassment.
The Register has indeed declared war on gun owners. They are violating privacy. They have likened CHL-holders to sex offenders. They have created a list of targets. They will NOT listen to reason, and they actively suppress viewpoints that disagree with them. They MUST be stopped!

Welcome to the "Yellow Journalism" of the 21st Century. 0 -
I live near enough to Sandusky that I could walk in and give them a piece of my mind....... to think, just 30 miles from the home of the National Rifle and Pistol matches, Camp Perry! Do you know how much revenue firearms generate for Sandusky every year in the tourist trade?! 0 -
It's about time!

Progress marches on, and on, sadly.

I'm sure their Editor is the kind of person who is against making registered sex offenders available for public record. After all, we don't want THOSE people harrased. Law Abiding gunowners on the other hand....... 0 -
The Sioux Falls, S.D. Argus Leader, i.e., "Argus Liar/Angus Leader", was doing the same thing. S.D. gun owners complained and the state legislature made it illegal so the paper put everyones' name on a web site to get around the law.
I wrote to them a couple of times and protested their argument that it was public information and the public had a right to know. One of my arguments was that there's a hell of a difference between PUBLIC information that you have to make an effort/go to the courthouse to obtain, and PUBLISHED information.
The Sioux Falls paper has gone to hell since it lost it's competition, was bought by Gannett, and imported an Eastern editor.
The Sheriff has always honored it if you right "not for press"
on your request or renewal.0 -
I meant "write"............ 0 -
Same thing happened in Va. back in the spring. The ultra-liberal Roanoke Times obtained their list from the Virginia State Police! They didn't publish it in the paper but on their web site and removed it a few days later. It stirred up so much controversy that the General Assembly has taken it up. There may be a silver lining if the leglislature passes a law protecting the list. 0 -

Oh, they will listen to the reason of the consumer. The way to get to them is to discontinue buying their newspaper and refuse to patronize any business that advertises with them. Also, let the businesses know that the reason that you will no longer do business with them is because they advertise with the newspaper. Eventually they will get the message.0
