    F*** that defeatist nonsense.

    I say we fight back.

Just as Toyota or GM should not take responsibility for when a rapist uses one of their trucks to kidnap a victim, neither should we sit back and let this tragedy tar us all as irresponsible and dangerous lunatics.

There were hundreds of police officers on campus - they failed.

There are gun laws in place to prevent criminals from getting guns - they failed.

The only thing that was lacking was a good man or woman with a sidearm and the opportunity to use it.

Had even one teacher or student been armed, that rampage would have been over before it had begun. Predators do not seek a fight - they seek a kill.

This massacre is a wake up call to arm up and get educated about firearms or line up for the proverbial slaughterhouse. You will note that no mass-shooter in history ever decided to walk into a police station, Army barracks, or Marine depot. They choose places where the likelihood of armed resistance is slim to none.

The logical answer: increase the likelihood of resistance and decrease the chances someone will pick your locale for target practice.

Anyone who supports gun control truly is supporting the terrorists. They wish to make us victims and nothing more and I for one will not resign myself to further restrictions when the facts support our cause.

My question is, had Bush lost, what would John Kerry's response be to this incident today?

I voted for Bush twice. I am not happy with what's going on his second term. I'm tired of open boarders. I'm tired of the Iraq occupation. BUT, we at LEAST have a fighting chance with him in there when a scenario like this arises. We have to give him some credit for this.

IMO, Kerry would have signed a handgun ban into law by now. No doubt in my mind.

At least Bush made a pro-gun statement in the face of a bunch of anti, A-hole reporters.

    What would Kerry do?

Probably taken the gunman on single-handedly. Kerry was a big war hero, remember? He reminded us often enough. [xx(]

Remember that HR 1022 not only includes high-cap magazines and "black" guns, it also includes semi-automatic rifles like your .22 target rifle and "shotguns". Notice it doesn't say "military shotguns". This means the double gun with the damascus barrels that was handed down through your family starting with your great-grandfather.

I agree with EMM on this one. If we don't start fighting like our lives depend on it, they just might.
